The honest limits, before you spend time on a file
How it fits the target
For JPG and WebP it lowers the encoding quality first and only reduces the dimensions if that isn't enough. PNG has no quality setting, so a PNG is made smaller by reducing its dimensions. The picture is never cropped.
If it already fits
When the image is already under your target, AMGlide says so and lets you keep the original instead of re-encoding it.
Limits
JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 40 MB.
