Good to know
The honest limits, before you spend time on a file
Why WebP
WebP is made for web pages, and it keeps transparent areas transparent. A PNG screenshot or graphic usually becomes much smaller; a JPG photo that is already compressed may barely shrink, so the new size is shown next to the old one before you save it.
How it is written
The dimensions stay exactly the same and nothing is cropped. WebP here is written at high quality (0.92) — a lossy setting that suits pictures for a site, not an archive master you will edit again.
Not every browser can write WebP
Current Chrome and Edge can. A browser without a WebP encoder quietly hands back a PNG instead; AMGlide checks what was written and says "This browser can't save WebP images" rather than saving a PNG under a WebP name. JPG and PNG still work there.
Already a WebP?
If the picture is already a WebP, AMGlide says there is nothing to convert.
Limits
JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 40 MB.
Beyond this one task
Give AMGlide the file. It works out the rest.
Smart Drop reads what you brought and suggests what fits — then carries it into the next step without asking for it again.
